Overview:
300,000 or more copies have been sold since its publication, Work In Progress is a comprehensive guide for parents and professionals who are working and caring for children with Autism. Dr. John McEachin conducted the first session and touched on approaches to developing advanced skills in language and communication. He identified the skills needed for language comprehension such as symbolic representation, attention to detail, independent direction of attention and how preverbal skills such as Matching, Imitation and attention were crucial prerequisites. Mr. Toby Mountjoy gave an insight to the workings of ABA as well as addressing misconceptions about ABA. The second session also compendiously expressed techniques used to teach social skills, imagination and advanced play skills to higher functioning children.
